all right! all the safety precautions mentioned, how to make a back-up of your registry explained. So lets just get started with the registry.

In order to edit the registry you need to first launch the registry editor or regedit

for this just click on start and type regedit on your search bar and hit enter. Type in your admin password or click allow at the prompt. you are successfuly in regedit and you will see this on your screens:

regedit.exe

regedit.exe

Like I mentioned earlier, Microsoft has tried to dissuade users from changing the registry by giving the various folders weird name like you can see in the picture.

the left-hand-side frame contains all the root folders also known as hives. if you want to see the sub-menu of a particular hive just click on the plus sign besides each hive. the weird stuff you see on the right-hand-side panel are the registry values and at the end of the day these are the ones you will be changing in order to change the look and feel of your computer or to make your computer more to your liking.
